Ambleside Park is one of the favorite beach destinations in the community of West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The waterfront beach park measures 24 hectares (59 acres) and is situated on the eastern end of West Vancouver where the Capilano River meets the Burrard Inlet.

The highlights of Ambleside Park are the long sandy/pebbled beach, the 1.2 kilometre seawalk and the marine sightseeing. There are some sightseeing benches located on the seawalk or you may wish to lay back in the sand and propt yourself up against a large drift wood log.

The beach in Ambleside Park provides a great vantage point for views of the Burrard Inlet, the City of Vancouver and of Stanley Park. And as for ocean sightseeing - there is plenty of waterfront activity to watch including wind surfers, sailboats, barges, cruise ships and speed boats.

The activities enjoyed in the park during the summer months include swimming, sunbathing, walking, jogging, sightseeing, tennis, picnicking, golf, birdwatching and volleyball.

The services and amenities in the park include sports fields, grass fields, fitness circuit, skateboard park, tennis courts, beach volleyball, par 3 golf, washrooms, concession, day use picnic area, picnic shelter, playground, duck pond, art carvings and a off leash dog area.

The off leash dog area is particularly great in the park as it is large - measuring 3.5 hecatres - and it has its own doggie beach.

If one wants to explore the region then why not wander down to the Ambleside Pier located just west of Ambleside Park on the corner of 14th Street and Bellevue Avenue. The pier is great for fishing with the kids. And for the adults there is usually some outdoor art exhibits at the Ferry Building in front of the pier.
