Paarens Beach Provincial Park in Fort St. James, British Columbia, Canada is one of the bigger parks in the area for recreational use. The 43 hectare park is located on the southwest shores of Stuart Lake in a remote wilderness setting.

The park is a full service facility with a well maintained day use area and an overnight tenting and RV campground. The Paarens Beach Provincial Park campsites come complete with picnic tables and fire pits. Located within the park is a large picnic shelter, a playground, fresh water, pit toilets and some change rooms.

Paarens Beach Provincial Park enjoys a sandy beach frontage with views of Fort St. James, Mount Pope and the Omineca Mountain Range. Being that the park is more remote the area is visited more by wildlife. Some of the animals that wander the area include black bears, moose and deer.

The park is a popular destination for people who enjoy beachfront picnics, fishing, canoeing, boating, camping, swimming and lake views. Each of the camping / picnic sites are lake front which is a nice plus. Some of them enjoy some shade under the trees while others are more open fronting the lake.

The park is resting on a long pebbled, sandy beach which is a big draw for many day use visitors and overnight campers. The beach is more long than wide so there is not allot of room for frisbee per say. The pebbled beach is best enjoyed by sunbathers, swimmers and book readers.

At one end of the campground is a boat launch providing access to Stuart Lake. Many campers and day use visitors come to the park to access the lake for a chance at reeling in some rainbow trout, kokanee, ling cod or dolly varden. The lake is over 70 kilometres long and provides allot of territory to fish.

It is encouraged to explore the area and continue down the road pass the campground for another 5 kilometres to the Sowchea Bay Park. Another campground park nearby located on the shores of Stuart Lake.
