Campbell Valley Regional Park

Campbell Valley Regional Park is a recreation and historical destination all rolled up into one. The park expands out from both banks of the Little Campbell River which flows down the centre of the park exploring a mixed environment of forests, marsh, rolling hills and open meadows.

The 535 hectare park near Langley includes over 18+ kilometres of recreation trails, some historic buildings and a popular equestrian centre. The park is a popular destination for hiking, horseback riding, horse jumping, jogging and for launching a canoe or kayak.

Connecting the entire park is the 14 kilometre perimeter trail known as the Shaggy Mane Trail. Other shorter trails in the Campbell Valley Regional Park include the Ravine, Little River Loop, Deer and Meadow Trails.

The recreation trails mostly follow a hard packed gravel and boardwalk pathway. All the side trails eventually hook into the perimeter trail called the Shaggy Mane Trail. Some trails are shared trails between hikers and horseback riders - Shaggy Mane being the most popular.

The Campbell Valley Regional Park is divided into three geographical areas - North Valley, Equestrian and South Valley.

The North Valley section includes one of the main entrances into the park. The entrance is located on 16th Avenue. The entrance includes a good size parking lot, day use picnic area and washrooms. Nearby is a tree nursery, a scout camp and McLean Pond. The pond includes a dock, pit toilets and it is designated as a canoeing pond in the park.

The equestrian section of the park, referred to as the Campbell Downs Equestrian Centre, caters to horse enthusiasts. The centre includes a horse riding ring, horse barn and access to the horseback riding trails. No public access to washrooms here.

The South Valley section includes one of the main entrances into the park. The entrance is located on 8th Ave and 204 Street. The entrance includes a good size parking lot, day use picnic area and washrooms.

Accessed from the South Valley entrance is the Old Orchard Picnic Shelter (day use picnic area, washrooms, fire ring) Visitor Centre, wildlife garden, Order of Canada Grove, 1888 Lochiel School House, 1888 Annand/Rowlatt Farmstead (farmhouse, barns), two off leash dog areas and hiking trails.
