Como Lake Park is a small fresh water lake nestled in the town of Coquitlam BC Canada. The park is beautiful to visit at anytime of the year and has something to offer for the whole family.
Lakeside Loop Trail which goes right around the lake is extremely popular with walkers and joggers as the distance around the lake is 1km long. Dogs are welcome on this walking trail to run and walk along but are encouraged to be on a leash.
Try your hand at fishing. There are two docks and plenty of places to fish from shore. Therefore it is a bonus that this urban fishing park is stocked yearly with Rainbow Trout by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC.
Every May the City of Coquitlam hosts the annual Como Lake Fishing Derby. It is a free event for children and youth 16 years and under. Line recycling boxes are set up on both docks so you can recycle your old fishing line. Therefore it does not end up in the water and harm the fish and wildlife that swim in these waters.
