Gray Bay, Moresby Island

A wilderness beach location found in the rugged backyard of Moresby Island, which is part of the Haida Gwaii Islands Archipelago. The recreational wilderness camping park is on the sandy shores of Gray Bay and is accessed via a well maintained 21 kilometre active gravel logging road.

Gray Bay - Haida Gwaii, BC Photo GalleryGray Bay is a recreational campground with a large beach area. The campground onsite enjoys some good size campsites for campers and grassy ones for tenters. The camping is on a first come first serve basis. If camping areas are not in use, people will use them as day-use sites for picnics and family days spent at the beach.

The beach area is gorgeous and, at low tide, the ocean waters recede leaving behind hard packed sand. Gray Bay is a great beach for finding shells and for exploring on long walks.

Not far from Gray Bay is the Secret Cove Trail and another trail starts from the south end of Gray Bay and leads to Cumshewa Head. The Gray Bay-Cumshewa Head Trail is 3 miles (4.5km) leads to one of the easternmost points on Moresby Island.
