With all there is to see and do in this area, you may want to give yourself extra time here! Obviously the main feature of this mountain side B.C resort are the outdoor hot pools! Open year round, they are easily accessible to everyone as the main building where they are located is wheelchair accessible. Located close to the parking lot, it is easy to drive from your suite, or do the 10 minute walk, depending where you are staying on the resort. We were in suite 3 on the far side, so would just drive over to avoid the cold walk with a toddler. There are 4 pools at Crazy Creek Resort. 2 being hot pools. 1 kept at a temperature of 104 and the other at a temperature of 98. Additionally, they have a plunge pool for those brave enough to jump into the 8 degree water! All 3 of these pools are open year round. They also have a large seasonal pool, kept around 89 degrees open from May until October. The hot pools are large, giving room for everyone to enjoy the tranquility of this area. The pools light up at night giving a beautiful glow as you relax in the warm water. Plenty of seating available around the pool deck. Open 7 is days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Admission to the pools are included in your stay at the resort when renting a cabin or suite. But don't worry! If you're just passing through the area, the pools are open to the public as well, for a small day rate!
The 1st thing that ever caught my eye here is the almost 100ft Crazy Creek Waterfall from the highway. An absolute beauty. Cascading down the mountain, this waterfall has a great flow year round. You can see if from the highway, but it is much more enjoyable to so the short trail to get up close to this natural beauty. Because this waterfall is on private property, Crazy Creek Resort property, you will be charged admission if you want to get closer to the waterfall. Regardless if you are staying at the resort, admission to the waterfall and suspension bridge is required. It is not included in your stay. For the cost of around $12 per adult, the price is fair for what they offer on that adventure. Not only will you get to wander the beautiful forest to the waterfall, but there is also a 240ft Suspension bridge crossing above the falls! Additionally, they have many different well kept viewing platforms to snap those perfect photos, as well as an ice cream shop (seasonal), historical information, and activities for the kids. Curious how they built the Suspension Bridge? You'll learn all about it on the hike around the falls. This area is also considered wheelchair accessible with some assistance. Call the resort ahead of time to learn how they can assist you if needed.
A unique feature of Crazy Creek Resort and Hot Pools is the fact it's located amongst the ruins of the old town of Taft, British Columbia Canada. Dating back to the late 1800s, a once-upon-a-time town that thrived along the main train route to Vancouver. Interestingly, you can take a walk along the trails of the resort to find the old ruins tucked into the trees. While exploring the town of Taft, you will find remains of the old train station, the sawmill, and if you venture a little farther, the old hotel too. For reference, the Taft post office was in operation from February 1, 1908, until November 30, 1945. The population in 1918 was 17. Take a wander through the trees and imagine what this logging and farming community was like in its prime.
Adventures at Crazy Creek Resort and Hot Pools in British Columbia Canada includes a walking trail along Eagle River that is only open to the resort guests. Eagle River is known for its amazing fishing, beautiful clear water, and stunning views. If you're lucky, and you visit during the fall, you may even get to witness part of the salmon run. Where the fish make their way from the ocean to the inland rivers of B.C. to do their spawning. It really is a site to see. Skip rocks, watch for wildlife, or just relax and listen to the water flowing by. Explore the trails along Crazy Creek for a more secluded forest hike.
Not only are there hot pools, a waterfall, a ghost town, and a suspension bridge, but the resort also boasts 2 playgrounds and a bike pump track! Kids of all ages will love the clean and safe playgrounds and if you've got a little biker in your life, they'll have a blast on the bike track! The playgrounds are nicely located on each side of the property, so regardless of which area of the resort you're staying at, you shouldn't be far from 1 of the 2 play structures.
We're not done with what there is to do at Crazy Creek yet!! Go ahead and bring your ATV or side-by-side with you on this adventure in British Columbia Canada. This awesome place to stay in B.C. sits on 165 acres of resort land! Giving way to a ton of trails to explore between Revelstoke and Sicamous. Considered to be "easy riding trails" and among the best in the area. Furthermore, being located in the Eagle Pass, this is a phenomenal base camp for snowmobile adventures as well.
Not feeling up to camping and would just like to unwind and relax completely? Well then, you can book one of the beautiful cabins or suites available with all the comforts of home at your fingertips. Full kitchen suites and cabins make for convenient meal times. However there are not many dining options in close proximity to the resort, so the full kitchens are a fantastic feature of Crazy Creek. Pack your food, or shop in nearby Revelstoke to the east or Sicamous to the west, and you'll have no need to leave the resort. I thought it was very cool that our suite was in the old fish hatchery building!
There are no restaurants on-site at Crazy Creek Resort, but they do have a small store with general grocery items, as well as a coffee machine and fruity slushies available as well. With the full kitchens available here, it is recommended to bring your meals and cook on-site. Alternatively, Malakwa Cafe is only a few minutes away and offers amazing breakfast specials as well as a full menu throughout the day. Malakwa Cafe is open 7 days a week. If you don't mind going for a drive, the food options open up greatly as you are situated perfectly in the middle of 2 cute towns - Revelstoke and Sicamous. Both offer a variety of dining options for travelers.
If you choose to venture off the resort for a bit, there is no shortage of day trip options available from here. After enjoying adventures at Crazy Creek Resort and Hot Pools in British Columbia Canada, we went off and found the Malakwa Suspension Bridge, as well as 8 other easy-access waterfalls! A drop in the bucket for what there is to do in this section of B.C. Year-round adventures are everywhere you look.
While staying at the resort, I couldn't help but notice all the helicopter tours available around here! Ever wanted to get dropped off on a mountain top with either your mountain bike or a pair of skis? Well, this is your chance! For the cost of about $500 CDN per person, you can have an adventure of a lifetime! Go hard and ride down 7000ft for an unparalleled mountain experience in Eagle Pass. Wouldn't those hot pools be nice after a ride like that?! This is definitely something we will be back again to try.
There you have it! I think I've covered the bases for what there is to do near Crazy Creek Resort. As you can tell, there are many adventure opportunities to enjoy here. Whether you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday, an action-packed adventure trip, or just passing through and want to take a relaxing break, Crazy Creek Resort is the place to do it!
