Parker Park is a community park ideal for picnics and group events located on the shores of Range Lake. There are picnic tables, sitting benches, large grass lawns, a baseball diamond and a children's playground. There is an access trail connecting to the Range Lake Trail also located in Parker Park.
The Range Lake Trail is a 1.2 kilometre one-way trail following the northern shore of Range Lake. The route is a multi use route visited for hiking, birdwatching in the summer and cross country skiing in the winter.
The Range Lake Trail is an easy grade, well maintained community trail used by locals regularly. The trail is very well marked with flags and painted foot steps. The flags on the trail mark the route most of the way. The foot steps painted on the flat rock and boulders also double as route markers.
The Range Lake Trail follows a pebbled path most of the way. There are section of the trail which cross over raised wooden bridges and boardwalk designed to protect the sensitive shoreline of the lake. There are other sections of the trail walking over flat rock and boulders (Canadian Shield).
The recreation route is an opportunity for birdwatching and sightseeing. There are views of the lake from many points along the trail. Here and there are you see cottage homes hidden in trees. Birdwatching is in the trees and on the water. There are many song birds and waterfowl to watch.
