Kiwanis Trail
Kiwanis Nature Trail is a recreation pathway following along the northern banks of the North Saskatchewan River in the community of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada.
The Kiwanis Nature Trail measures about 4 kilometres one-way and explores, mostly, a riparian and green space environment. The pathway is a dirt trail, often under the shade of trees, popular for walking, biking, geocaching, sightseeing, XC skiing and dog walking.
The pathway provides great views of the river, as well as, some views of the community. Along the trail are sitting benches, grass lawns and information signs detailing the local ecosystems and wildlife.
The trail is decorated with dogwood, spruce and poplar trees. The trees provide shade and coverage for song birds. There are opportunities to also view waterfowl and other wildlife like beavers, rabbits and deer.
The western access point to the Kiwanis Nature Trail is located at the #55 exit on Highway #2 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada - right before the North Saskatchewan River Bridge. The eastern trailhead entrance is located in the Little Red River Park.
On the opposite side of the North Saskatchewan River is the Rotary Trail. Combine the two river trails by crossing the bridge and you have a great sightseeing route measuring about 17 kilometres.
