Rotary Trail
Rotary Trail is a very popular recreation pathway which explores the southern banks of the North Saskatchewan River and then circles the community of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada.
The pathway measures over 23 kilometres long. It is generally an easy going, level pathway ideal for all ages and fitness levels. It is an ideal route for sightseeing and exploring when visiting in the community of Prince Albert.
The Rotary Trail follows along the southern banks of the North Saskatchewan River before turning south (away from the river) and circling the community. The off-river section of the trail visits with more parks, attractions, an information centre, neighbourhoods and green space areas.
The Rotary pathway is a 3 metre wide recreation route popular for hiking, walking, jogging, roller blading and sightseeing. The paved section along the river is the most popular section of the route and is very wheelchair and baby stroller friendly.
The section of the Rotary Trail following the North Saskatchewan River from Mair Park to 15th Street East is a very active section of the route. Along the river route are many attractions like a museum, historic downtown, rowing club, playgrounds and soccer fields.
Along the river are sightseeing benches, picnic shelters and day use picnic tables. Many providing fantastic views of the river and community. There are also information signs, monuments, artifacts and a totem pole located along the route.
The Rotary Trail on the river connects to a series of small waterfront parks. Some of the parks include Mair Park, Elks Place River Park, Dave G. Steuart Park and the Reverend James Nisbet Park.
When near the historic downtown section of the Rotary Trail one can cross the bridge on the North Saskatchewan River and connect with the Kiwanis Nature Trail which then leads to the very popular Little Red River Park.
