Last Mountain Lake is about 100 kilometres long and just over 3 kilometres wide at its widest point. There are many parks, marinas and beach communities, including Saskatchewan Beach, located up and down the shores of the lake.
Saskatchewan Beach includes an east beach and a west beach.The east beach includes a sandy beach, playground and a picnic area. The west beach includes a sandy beach, a playground, a boat launch and a sailing club. The beaches include picnic tables, swim floats, roped off swimming areas and washrooms.
Last Mountain Lake and Saskatchewan Beach are popular destinations for many summer adventures. Some of the activities most popular include swimming, sun bathing, kayaking, canoeing, boating, fishing, water skiing, wake boarding, jet boating, sailing and picnicking.
The beach community of Saskatchewan Beach provides some basic services including gas, a general store and accommodations.
The small village was, during the early 1900s, the location of the Silton Post Office and loading docks. The foundations of the old dock are still visible from east beach.
