Friendship Park is an activity and sightseeing destination located on the west bank of the South Saskatchewan River in the Meewasin Valley in the downtown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Friendship Park is part of the Meewasin Valley park and trail system. The Meewasin Valley Trail measures 60+ kilometres and connects to many picnic day use sites, activity destinations, lookouts and riverfront parks including Friendship Park.

Photo galleryThe downtown Saskatoon, Sask. park is one of the more developed parks in the community. It is the home of the Meewasin Valley Centre and River Landing. The centre is a source of information, tours and home to some washrooms.

River Landing is a riverfront promenade walkway and green space area connecting to the Meewasin Valley Trail. The landing area includes sitting benches, umbrella picnic tables, sloping grass lawns and a water spray park for children.

Friendship Park sees allot of activity. There are people in the park enjoying walking, biking, roller blading, picnicking, canoeing, kayaking and sightseeing.

The Saskatoon Friendship Park is a central gathering place for sightseeing. The cement and clay brick promenade includes lookout platforms with information signs and sightseeing benches providing views of the community and the river activity.

The South Saskatchewan River is an adventure route for paddlers. On the banks of the river are some dock floatation pads used for easy take-outs of canoes and kayaks.

The main statue in Friendship Park is a bronze sculpture of Gabriel Dumont on his horse. He is best remembered as a hero leading the fight in the Northwest Rebellion of 1885.

The Meewasin Valley Trail connects Friendship Park with other parks. For more adventure travel north from Friendship Park on the trail and connect with the Kiwanis Memorial Park or travel south and connect with Victoria Park.
