Kaministiquia River Heritage Park is a historic and sightseeing destination located on the banks of the Kaministiquia River in the community of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Thunder Bay is part of the North of Superior region of Northern Ontario, Canada.
A paved 550 metre walkway follows the banks of the river leading to exhibits including a tug boat, sculpture, monument and railroad train.
There are sightseeing benches on the trail and a canoe dock on the riverfront. The park is a great place in the city to enjoy views and the river. The riverfront path then continues and connects with the Riverside Walkway.
The highlight of the park is the winged sculpture created by Anne Allardyce. The sculpture goes by the name of "Animikii - Flies the Thunder". The sculpture measures 6.7 metres (22 ft.) tall and is made of stainless steel.
Another exhibit in the park includes the 100 year old tugboat called the "James Whalen Tug". The historic tug boat was once used for transporting logs and forestry supplies up and down the river.
Nearby are more sightseeing exhibits including the VIA RAIL train and the WWII Merchant Marine Monument.
