The Big Fiddle is the largest in the world standing at about 18.2 metres tall (60 feet). The fiddle is a tribute to the traditions of the large Celtic population in the province. The fiddle (aka Fidheal Mhor a’ Ceildeh, or the Big Fiddle of the Ceilidh) welcomes all visitors arriving from cruise ships to the city and to all travelers who make their way down to the waterfront pier.
The Big Fiddle adventures, and activities most enjoyed includes sightseeing, selfies, geo caching, dancing and walking.
Because it is a sweet selfie shot, but it is sooo big it is hard to fit in the camera. Ug! Time your visit and sometimes the fiddle plays music and at night it performs light shows. And get this... in the summer sometimes there are dancers too.
The more important, some would say only, features, amenities, services located in and around the The Big Fiddle includes the cruise ship centre, internet access, farmers market (seasonal), museum, pavilion, and nearby restaurants and shops.
