DESCRIPTION:The Pacific Rim Whale Festival is an annual event celebrating the return of Pacific Grey Whales to the west coast of Vancouver Island on their Northern migration route. The week-long festival (March 16-24) hosts a number of fun events throughout Tofino, and Ucluelet, BC, and the Pacific Rim Nation Park Reserve. \n\nEvents include: Spout Ball (Ucluelet), Chowder Chowdown (Ucluelet), Parade of Whales and Wonders (Tofino), Eco-Community Market (Tofino), Beach Seine with Ucluelet Aquarium, Maritime Kids Day (Tofino), Research and Network Night (Ucluelet), Whale Spotting (Amphitrite Lighthouse Ucluelet), Marine Mammal Research Day with Subtidal Adventures (Ucluelet), Island Art Paint Night (Tofino), Tug-O-Whale and Beach Clean (Long Beach, Tofino), and the Baleen Bash Closing Party (Licensed event, Tofino).\n\nEVENT ADMISSION\nThe Pacific Rim Whale Festival has two types of events - Button Events and Ticketed Events\n\nButton Events (Buttons designed by local school children)\nPurchase an artistic button (for a minimum donation) at your first event to access the many button events throughout the festival.\n\nTicketed Events\nThese events require the purchase of a ticket (electronic or physical) to attend. Links to purchase these tickets are available in the event description within the website below. These events have limited capacity, so don't wait to purchase!\n\nThe Pacific Rim Whale Festival is a non-profit society that began over 30 years ago with a group of concerned citizens who wanted to create awareness about this pristine ecosystem, the endangered Grey Whale population, and coastal traditions. The festivities each spring are centered around these great ocean giants while focusing on their incredible migration and long-term protection.
