Rival Trade Brewing near Sundre, Alberta: A Must-Visit Craft Brewery
Rival Trade Brewing in Alberta: A Must-Visit Craft Brewery
While on an EhCanada Adventure Seekers Meet-Up, our group stopped at Rival Trade Brewing near Rocky Mountain House/Sundre, Alberta, and this local brewery quickly became a favourite stop. With its creative brews, fun atmosphere and strong connection to the area, Rival Trade Brewing is definitely worth adding to your Alberta adventure list. Brewing since 2021, the brewery draws inspiration from the region's history, people, and spirit, inviting visitors to experience more than just the beer.
And then there are the beer names! Seriously, how can you not want to try a beer called The Beaver, Mountain Ape, Beary Jammin’, The Goat or Mighty Moose? There’s also Against the Grain, Lil’ Pecker and Aurora Key Lime Pie. A beer flight is the perfect way to sample a few of their fun and creative brews without committing to just one!
If you’re not a big beer drinker, like me, no worries! They also had “What? No Waaaay,” a delicious hard lemon iced tea that was right up my alley.
Discover Rocky Mountain House Craft Beer at Rival Trade Brewing
What stood out to us most was the seating area at the back of the brewery. The space felt relaxed and inviting, and we loved that the brewing area was completely open concept. Instead of being tucked away behind glass, the brewing equipment was right there as part of the experience.
Plus, the taproom is designed as more than just a place to grab a beer. It has become a community gathering spot where visitors can enjoy local craft beer, events and the welcoming atmosphere of Rocky Mountain House.
