Maple Bay is a small marine village located east of the community of Duncan, BC on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The village is in private cove, fronted by a pebbled beach, situated on the shores of the Sansum Narrows. Maple Bay is a residential neighborhood located about 10 minutes from Duncan.
There are few services in Maple Bay located in the village including a restaurant/pub, boat launch, sandy beach and a marina. The marina is located on the south end of Bird's Eye Cove near the pub.
The waterfront of Maple Bay is a pebbled beach. At low tides the beach reveals shells and marine life. During the summer months people visit the beach at low tide so to enjoy activities like suntanning, sightseeing, beachcombing, swimming, picnicking and reading. Nearby at the marina people are enjoying ocean kayaking, scuba diving, boating and sailing.
The waterfront is divided into three public access areas. The first is a parking lot where there is a boat launch and a large pier. The paved parking lot is large enough for boat trailers, but it is a small lot. On busy days trailers are parking on the street.
The second access point is a beach park. there is limited parallel parking on the street. From the parking lot there is a small walking path leading down to the beach. There is a large washroom/change room and a grassy lawn area.
The third access point is on a separate section of the waterfront accessed best from Genoa Bay Road. The Maple Bay Marina is on Genoa Bay Road. There is a store, docks and pub/restaurant.

How to Get Here: Travel Highway #1 to the community of Duncan in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. In Duncan turn east on Trunk Road. Trunk Road turns into Tzouhalem Rd. Continue on Tzouhalem and follow the signs to Maple Bay. Tzouhalem Road eventually turns into Maple Bay Road. Follow it for 10 minutes to the beach.
