It is region with many opportunities for wilderness education and activity. The Lang Creek area is a full package of activity for all ages including a sit back and relax, estuary... an educational salmon hatchery... and an easy grade walking hiking trail system.

Powell River Photo Gallery The trail system explores the Lang Creek area with a diverse selection of scenery highlighted by the waterfalls. The trail wonders for 5 km (3 mi). At a comfortable pace, taking some time to observe your surroundings, the trail should take 1-2 hours to complete.

Off the shores of the estuary on the opposite side of the Lang Creek trail, from late September up to late October, the Salmon Hatchery stands. Where you see Salmon in BC, you see people fishing. The shores become a popular fishing destination for Spring Salmon so, often, one can see fishing rods reeling and casting.

Because Lang Creek feeds right into the Malaspina Strait and then out to the Pacific Ocean it is a doorway for returning Salmon looking to come back home to spawn. A wildlife ritual that all should witness when in the area in the late months, like October and November. Every river with returning Salmon also brings some wild company, like the arrival of Bald Eagles and Bears.
