Gyro Park is a community park stretching along the rocky shores of the Columbia River in the community of Trail, BC which is located in the Kootenay region of British Columbia, Canada. The park is a popular destination in the community for many recreational activities, festivals and events.
Gyro Park is connected by a waterfront walkway. The paved route provides access to all points in the park, as well as, connects to the Sunningdale subdivision. The well maintained paved walking route is considered an easy grade trail suitable for all ages and abilities. There are sitting benches, lookout points, flower gardens and stairs accessing the banks of the Columbia River located along the walkway.
Gyro Park is a popular picnic area, sandy beach and walking park. It includes many amenities like large grass lawns, many picnic tables, a picnic shelter, gazebos, a concession, an adventure playground, kids spray park, viewpoints and washrooms.
Some of the activities enjoyed on the river, along the waterfront path and in the park include swimming, suntanning, river fishing, walking, biking, sightseeing, jogging, picnicking, roller bladding and music festivals.
Travel to the community of Trail, BC. In Trail follow the main highway over the bridge away from downtown. Take a left on 2nd Ave. Follow 2nd Avenue to Gyro Park.
