Cape Mudge Lighthouse on Quadra Island of the Discovery Islands, BC, Canada is located on the south-western tip of the island so to protect and mark the entrance to the Discovery Passage.

A wooden lighthouse was built in 1898 because of the mounting number of shipwrecks entering the Discovery Passage during the Klondike Gold Rush as miners headed north seeking riches. In 1916 the current 12 metre (42 ft) high lighthouse was constructed.

Today Cape Mudge Lighthouse is automated like many of the lighthouses in BC, Canada now. The removal of lighthouse keepers is a contentious issue in BC and still to this day is under review in many regions.
