Cavan Lake

Cavan Lake is a remote recreation and campground destination surrounded by grassland prairie fields located southeast of the community of Medicine Hat, Alberta in the southern Alberta region of Canada.

The recreation site is situated on the west shores of Cavan Lake. From the site there are plenty of views of the lake, the small island in the lake and the surrounding vast rolling country fields.

The site is remote away from the city of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. It is home to fishing derbys and, at times, can be a very busy wilderness campsite destination. However, it is important to know there is very little tree cover providing shelter from the sun.

This Medicine Hat, Alberta recreation lake is popular for summer and winter activities. In the summer the lake attracts people interested in fishing, camping and canoeing. In the winter months the lake is an ice fishing destination.

Cavan Lake is a paid camping experience. It includes a campground and day use area. There are services and amenities on site including picnic tables with fire pits, a small playground and pit toilets.
