Nicholas Sheran Lake Park is a community recreation park destination located in the City of Lethbridge, Alberta in the southern region of Alberta, Canada.
The 43 hectare (106 acre) Nicholas Sheran Lake Park is a neighbourhood park with large grass lawns, groves of cottonwood trees, a recreation trail, a day use picnic area, a playground and access to sports fields.
The lake in the park is surrounded by a 5.8 kilometre paved and gravel loop trail. The trail is considered an easy going, level pathway with beautiful grass lawns and sightseeing benches.
The pathway in the Nicholas Sheran Lake Park connects to the community wide trail network known as the Coal Banks Trail.
Nicholas Sheran Lake Park is a destination popular for activities like walking, hiking, jogging, canoeing, birdwatching, picnicking and roller blading in the summer months. On the west side of the lake is a marsh-like area popular for birdwatching.
In the winter months, after the temperatures have dropped and the lake freezes over, the park is an ice skating destination.
The large playground and picnic area are located on the south end of the park while baseball diamonds, a soccer field and a basketball court are located on the north end. Throughout the park is a disc golf course.
The Nicholas Sheran Lake Park is a well treed park destination. There is a grove of 12 trees in the park known as the "Peace Grove". And on Canada's 125th birthday another 125 trees were planted in the park.
